Ilonggo cuisine is one of the most famous in the islands. Known for the La Paz Batchoy, Pancit Molo, Chicken Inasal and more, the delicacies of the people of the gentle folks of the Western Visayan region of the Philippines gives a glimpse on its intricate culture and civilization.

But again, Ilonggo cuisine doesn’t end with the institutionalized La Paz Batchoy that many people know about through popular instant noodle brands. There is more to Ilonggo cuisine that meets the eye.

    i beg to disagree the way they did the tinuom nga uhong. its not the way our ancestors used to. what the chef did is so modernized. tinuom nga uhong is cooked without pork and oil. it is basically cooked in banana leaves. the sauteing of the ingredients will diminish the real mushroom flavor. and the reason why our ancestors cooked it the tinuom way? its because they wanted the real taste and flavor of uhong without much additional ingredients for health reason. now how could it be a healthy food if pork and shrimp are added plus the oil?
